Kathrein RFID, with the new M-ARU RS232

With the new M-ARU RS232, Kathrein RFID is introducing the first product of an entirely new equipment line.

Designed as a active UHF RFID Mid-Range sensor, the RFID reader is ideal for application in production
automation and on forklifts.
Thanks to the powerful circular dual feed patch antenna, the device can achieve read distances of up to
1.5 meters with very low transmission power. Special baseband filtering allows the device to be used in
high populations without the need for additional synchronisation.
The unit’s high IP65 protection class and robust design also enable installation on vehicles or automated
racking systems.
The initial version of the device is equipped with an RS232 interface and 3 digital inputs and outputs. An additional
version featuring an Ethernet interface is in development.
Like all other Kathrein RFID systems, the M-ARU sensor also functions with the KBRP protocol and is 100% compatible
with the current Long Range systems. Reader configuration can be performed using the Reader Start V2 software as well.
